Genetic Technology in agriculture, such as GM foods, is the process of changing the organisms material so it will produce organisms that it will be pest resistance. There is also artificial selection which is breeding plants and animals to get the desired traits. The organisms with artificial selection are cross pollinated with the organisms with the desired traits.
Some of the benefits can be:
- Crops grow faster
- Faster Production
- Less use of fertilizers
- Less use of pesticides
- Disease reduction
- Live longer lives
- More intelligent
But there are also some risk:
- Produces more chemicals
- Birth defects
- Can harm some animals that eat the crops
- Social Inequality
- Can be hazardous
